We started the day by going to the Metro campus to prayer walk. The team all agreed that it was vitally important to spend time in prayer for the students on campus. After lunch we met back up with Pastor Brad and continued to hand out flyers promoting the Easter service. The team got many different responses from Denver students, but it was overall a very rewarding time. During the afternoon the team visited the shopping area in downtown and had dinner at the ESPN Zone. The big event of the night was seeing the Denver Nuggets play the Oklahoma City Thunder. It was a great night and we are excited for our last day in Denver. Please pray for our last day of ministry and preparations for travel on Friday.

]]> http://lsuabcm.wordpress.com/2009/04/09/work-and-fun-in-denver/feed/ 0 lsuabcm http://lsuabcm.wordpress.com/2009/04/08/day-in-and-around-denver/ http://lsuabcm.wordpress.com/2009/04/08/day-in-and-around-denver/#comments Wed, 08 Apr 2009 05:13:02 +0000 lsuabcm http://lsuabcm.wordpress.com/?p=63 ]]> Today was another great day serving in Denver.  The group split into two teams today to work in different areas.  One group continued to work on the Metro campus helping High View Church promote their Easter service.  A second group went to a downtown ministry called Sox, which works with homeless and at risk teens.  Students helped organize a food pantry and began to help the ministry move items from an old building to a new location.  The entire team will be back at Sox on Thursday helping to complete the move.  After lunch the group headed up to see the mountains of Denver.  We had a chance to see a frozen lake, snow covered mountains, and even throw a snowball while taking in the wonders of God’s creation.  The group then went downtown to eat dinner and then back to campus to the Campus Crusade for Christ weekly worship service.  It was a great time to connect with other college students seeking the Lord here in Denver.  After a great day the team is back to rest and ready for another tomorrow.  Please pray for the team as we work on campus to promote Easter services with High View and prayer walk the campus.

Students visited an area in downtown Denver which is home to several local colleges and universities. While on campus today students worked to inform people about Easter services this weekend by posting signs and handing out flyers. The team also worked to interact with the communiry by asking students to complete a short survey. This survey asked responders about needs on campus and the information will assist the church in reaching students.  The day was very successful and will give the church great insight into their future work.  We spent the evening visiting with Pastor Brad and his parents who opened their home to the group for dinner, basketball watching, and games.  Please continue to pray for our group as we work and travel in Denver.

Safe and sound in Denver. We arrived in Denver and began helping the church (High View Church) with set-up. High view meets in downtown Denver at the student center of several universities in the area. We had a great morning service and got to hear a message from Pastor Brad.  We got to the hotel and spent the afternoon catching up on rest and getting ready for a big day tomorrow.  Please pray for safety and getting in touch with students on college campuses in Metro Denver.
